  • Kamiros reached high prosperity at the 6th and 5th century B.C.
  • Was built amphitheatrically with view to the sea and without any castle.
  • The ruins were uncovered in 1929. Many parts of the town are preserved such as parts of houses, the main street of the town, other buildings, the famous "agora" central spot and tracks of the temple of Athina.
  • The area around kamiros is full of byzantine and enetic monuments.
  • Kamiros was destroyed by an earthquake.
